About China Travel Plan
China Travel Plan is a small specialist internet based tour operator, offering you a unique way of travelling around China. Our China travel specialists will help you build your own trip, handing you complete control of your holiday. China Travel Plan is part of Rickshaw Travel, an online adventure tour operator made by travellers for travellers. Our trips are very individual, and you won't be part of a large coach tour but instead you'll travel by trains, buses, private car, planes, and sometimes minibus. We also like to give something back to local communities, which is why we sponsor various charity projects. See our responsible travel page for more information.We're able to keep our prices low because we don't produce flashy brochures or run luxury shops. I flew into the capital Beijing, which was busy with building work for the Olympics, and stayed for 5 nights. This was a perfect length of time to take in most of Beijing’s sights, sounds and smells !We visited Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and had an early Tai Chi lesson with the locals in a beautiful central park, the name of which escapes me. The definite highlight was a walk along the Jinsaling section of the Great Wall of China. It's as good as all the photos, and only whilst you walk along can you appreciate who much effort and resources, and how long this must have taken to build. My last evening in China started by watching the most amazing circus show, followed by a slap up meal at a specialist Crispy Peking Roast Duck resturant, onto an ultra modern private Karaoke bar, and finishing off with all night dancing at a club on Bar street will stay with me forever. China wasn't somewhere I'd planned on staying too long, but after my brief but intense taster, I'd go back like a shot. |
