Hainan holiday - Blue skies and golden sands

Hainan Island Beach Paradise

If you fancy ending your holiday with a few days on a tropical island beach then Hainan Island is a great choice. Hainan’s climate is nice even in the winter, and the sea water is always warm. There are many water sports you can participate in here on your Hainan holiday such as diving, snorkelling, surfing or boat trips.

You’ll stay at the three star Sanya Palm Beach Resort & Spa or a comparable hotel with swimming pool on Sanya beach. The area has a resort feel, and is not as traditional as our other destinations. It does however have a long coastline, along with clear blue skies and warm water, so a good spot if you want to relax and enjoy the sunshine.

Day 2 – 3: Hainan Island

Hainan Island is a great place to simply relax and unwind, therefore nothing on this Hainan holiday will be pre-arranged- leaving you to do as little or as much as you like. The sea in front of your resort is fine for swimming, and there are also diving shops on the beach where you can rent snorkelling equipment or purchase an introductory dive.

If you’d like to see more on your Hainan holiday besides the beaches….. 5km south of Sanya lies Luhuitou, a hilly peninsula excellent for hiking and with lovely scenery. Further inland you’ll also find a reserve with 1000 Guanxi monkeys.

Yalong Bay lies about 20km further down the coast and is the most popular centre for tourism on the island. It has a yacht harbour, horse track and golf course. You can reach the bay by bus, taxi or by bicycle (which can be hired from your hotel).

The coastline is lined with coral reef, and snorkelling or diving trips can be booked from Sanya harbour. Sanya is also known for its fresh fish dishes, so we do recommend sampling the catch of the day during your Hainan holiday.
