Hong Kong Arrival Tours - City of skyscrapers

Hong Kong Arrival Tours

It’s China, but then again it isn’t….. officially Hong Kong has been a part of China since 1997. A China trip isn’t complete without a visit to this cosmopolitan city; there isn’t a city in the world that offers the same mix of skyscrapers, 24 hour shopping in streets filled with Chinese signs, fast-paced business women and their cell phones, store windows bearing the most unusual foods and the fishing towns on Hong Kong Island where typical Chinese jonks are docked.

Catch the Star Ferry across the river and you’re in for a treat…. your own mini cruise! Don’t miss Aberdeen harbour and the view from Victoria Peak and you can even spend time on Lantau. While in Hong Kong be sure to enjoy the lively night life, great food and entertainment in the most happening clubs. Hong Kong….. an unforgettable travel destination!

Arrival in Hong Kong

The ultramodern airport Chep Lap Kok lies on the island of Lantau, approximately 45 minutes by car from Kowloon. Every major city in China has flights to Chep Lap Kok airport. After arrival in Hong Kong, many of our travellers appreciated having someone there to greet them with a sign featuring their name and to take them to their hotel (we can arrange this for you if you like). Otherwise there are plently of taxi cabs available in Hong Kong at a very affordable price.

An alternate airport in the Hong Kong area is the Canton (Guangzhou) airport. It’s located 2 hours away from Kowloon. It’s cheaper to fly to this airport and there are plenty of trains, busses and ferry’s to take you to Kowloon. If you rather take this route to save some money, let us know and we can arrange it for you. A direct flight into Hong Kong however is faster and easier.

Taxi cabs

There are taxi cabs everywhere in Hong Kong and they offer excellent service. The starting rate is 10 HK$ (less than £1) and a ride within the centre of town usually doesn’t cost more than £3.

Top 5 Hong Kong attractions:

1. Take the ferry from Kowloon and then the tram to Victoria Park on Hong Kong Island. Here you’ll be able to enjoy the view of the famous Hong Kong skyline.

2. Visit the various markets in the city such as the Temple Street Market, Ladies Market or the Bird Market.

3. Head towards Lan Kwai Fong in the evening. This is the happening place to be in the evening and is visited by a mix of Chinese and expats.

4. Visit the Sai Kung peninsula beach

5. Set the alarm on your watch for 20:00 to remind you to watch the Symphony of Lights, a laser-light show that casts a rainbow of colours on all of the buildings along the dock.

Hotels in Hong Kong

Our most frequently booked hotel lies in the central district of Tsimshatsui, on the southern point of Kowloon near the famous shopping street Nathan Road.

We also offer a room with a spectacular view of the impressive Hong Kong skyline in the luxurious Harbour View Hotel. Our third option allows you to stay at the beach in a budget hotel in the centre of the city on Lantau island. At the bottom of this page you’ll find more information on accommodation choices.

Please note: Prices below are based on travel during the low travel season. Normally there is an abundance of accommodation available in Hong Kong, however it may be difficult to book a room during Christmas and in October as it is the month in which most trade shows are held and Hong Kong is full of business travellers. The price per room will be much higher in these time slots; at times the rooms are even twice as expensive.
